This is your space to put your goals for the use of ICT in teaching and learning. You can give everyone updates on how you are going throughout the year. At the end of the year, you can upload a short presentation showing the results of your work to this page. Have fun with this space!

Hello, my name is Clare O'Connor and I am a New Entrant teacher at Waterloo School. My goal this year is to learn to use photostory. We are all having individual sessions with Suzie to get us started and I am looking forward to learning to do this. I would like to also explore a couple of sites I have heard about this morning at Muritae School - Starfall and to also have a go at kidpix which I have not used before!!!

21/4 Hi Clare, I've really enjoyed working with you on PhotoStory 3 in term one. I think your kids picked it up really well. I was impressed at how long they were able to stay focused when we did our teaching sessions. They must have a great teacher :-) I have a page about PhotoStory 3 on my wiki which might prove useful to you. I think it would be great if you could put an update on how you've found the process of working with PhotoStory 3 and how you might envision using it within your classroom programme. Great to see that you enjoyed Starfall and some of the other interactive websites. How have you gone with using them in your class? Just to let you know that you don't currently have Kidpix available to you at Waterloo School. It is a piece of software that the school would need to purchase.

5/8 I find the best ICT we have had this year is in the computer suite where all children learn new skills with hands on to a computer either individually or in a pair. Also good having 2 teachers available to help them. We are then able to go back to our classroom and practise what we have learnt. However due to the fact that the children are only 5 and we only have 1 computer in the classroom this is rather difficult. We have been practising mouse skills, using the projector, using Paint, visiting the National Art site, Art rage. The children mostly enjoy playing games which supports our Literacy programme and using Paint.

I really enjoyed having Suzie visit my class and take the lesson for Photostory. I have not done one since as still felt a little inadquate and just find it so hard to fit everything into our crowded curriculum. The children did enjoy the experience.
